Accreditation
Accreditation Update Fall 2008 We have worked throughout the year on fulfilling our action plan which was established as part of our accreditation visit last year. Our three key areas of attention and steps taken this year were: 1. Curriculum. • Curriculum Mapper is being completed at all grade levels for each area of curriculum. Two areas have been completed this year per grade level. • Adopted new social science curriculum in grades 3-5. • Staff training to update in different areas of technology. • Two (2) Intelliboards put into use to access technology for larger groups and integrate use of multiple resources during instruction. 2. Christian service to the community. • Two (2) volunteer workdays held this school year, involving parents, students, and staff. • Community service projects calendar implemented. Involved students at all grade levels, parents, staff, and church members. Minimum of two projects completed per month. • Founded North Orange County chapter of C.H.A.D.D. (Children & Adults with Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder) • Second Step® incorporated into all classrooms on regular basis. 3. Strategic budget planning • Monthly reports and sending staff to training to unify reports • Committee reviews of district, schools of like size, total compensation besides salaries to determine best course of action. • Follow through has been on going and intentional with counselor, principal, assistant principal, directors, and special projects coordinator as leaders to staff to check out assessment tools and to investigate better ways to communicate with the public. • The school continues to do well in this area and seeks new ways to address financial aid.
