Scott Christenson, Senior Pastor

“Pastor C” has been the Senior Pastor since 2014. He graduated from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois in 1992 and from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1996. Pastor C is married to Linda and they have two sons. He enjoys playing the acoustic guitar and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Cubs.

Pastor Velazquez has been serving St. Paul’s since 2015. He is a 2001 graduate of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, México City, received his postgraduate in 2010 in Business Strategies from Tecnológico de Monterrey, México City. He completed his seminary studies at Concordia University, Irvine in 2020 and was ordained at St. Paul's on January 17, 2021. He is married to Erika and they have two daughters and one son. Carlos enjoys traveling, reading, sports, movies and Italian and Argentinian food.
Tim Detviler, Visitation Pastor

Pastor Tim (or “P.Det” as the students call him) has been a pastor since 1996 and part of St. Paul's staff since 2023. After working for several years in the medical field with terminally ill patients, Pastor Tim returned to school to pursue a career in pastoral ministry. He graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri in 1996. He served as the pastor for Family Ministries at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Orange prior to accepting his current call as the Campus Pastor at Orange Lutheran High School. Pastor Tim is married to Jenny and enjoys spending his free time with his four children and six grandchildren.

Pastor Bil has been kicking around St. Paul’s since 2013. You may know him better as Mr. Mrs. Hood (one of our third grade teachers). When not preaching you can catch him playing guitar and singing. Bil is a graduate of the University of Washington with a Masters from Concordia University Irvine and ordained through Concordia Seminary St. Louis. Bil and Kim are lucky to live close to their 2 kids and 2 grand kids. Bil serves full time at Concordia University Irvine as the Off Campus Pastor.
Juno Rada, Director of Worship Arts

Juno is a singer-songwriter and producer from Los Angeles. He was a contestant on American Idol season 2014-2015. He's married to Mira and he enjoys long walks with their dog, Laika. His top 5 foods (at the moment of this writing) are asada fries, Indian food, wings, pho, and fish 'n chips.

Erica joined St. Paul's staff in 2023. She works full-time as a teacher at Orange Lutheran High School. She is married to Drew and they have two sons and one daughter.
Kessler O'Brien, Director of Student & Family Ministries

Kessler joined St. Paul's staff in 2023. He is a recent graduate of the DCE (Director of Christian Education) program at Concordia University Irvine. Kessler enjoys being outside in his freetime whether it is camping, hiking, or anything else active! He loves training and competing in triathlons and spending time with people over good food and coffee!

Tasha joined St. Paul's staff in 2024. She graduated from the DCE (Director of Christian Education) program at Concordia University Irvine in 2021. Tasha enjoys spending time with family and friends and staying active through sports, hiking, going to the beach, and walking her dog! She is also pursuing a Master of Arts in Theology at CUI.
Amelia Capell, Executive Assistant/Office Manager

Amelia has been on staff since 2018. She hails from San Diego and is married to Mark, an Orange Lutheran High School alumni, and they have one daughter and two sons. Amelia enjoys singing in the church choir, playing the acoustic guitar and rooting for the Chargers and the Angels.

Priscilla has been on staff since 2018. She is a 2003 graduate of Cal State Fullerton with a degree in International Business. She is married to Darren and they have three sons and one daughter. Priscilla enjoys the beach, camping and traveling.

Nicole has been on staff since 2019. She is a St. Paul's alum and a 2001 graduate of Cal State Fullerton. She is married to Adam and they have two daughters. She enjoys gardening, crafting and spending time with her family.

Henry has been on staff since 2013. He is married to Anna and they have one son and one daughter. Henry enjoys camping, off-roading and spending time with his family.

Darren has been on staff since 2007. He earned his degree in Liberal Arts from Concordia University, Irvine in 2018. He is married to Priscilla and they have three sons and one daughter.
Travis Hight, Facilities Technician

Travis has been on staff since 2019. He is both a St. Paul's Lutheran and Orange Lutheran High School alumni. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Kansas State in 2017. He enjoys sports, going to Angels games, mountain biking and hiking.
